Dynamics of Two-dimensional Type III Electron Beams in Randomly Inhomogeneous Solar Wind Plasmas

چکیده
Abstract The dynamics of a type III electron beam generating Langmuir wave turbulence and subsequent electromagnetic emissions is studied owing to two-dimensional Particle-In-Cell simulations performed in both homogeneous randomly inhomogeneous solar wind plasmas. Important differences the are highlighted between cases, due waves’ transformations on density fluctuations. This paper studies weak interacting with scattered by initially applied plasma fluctuations, terms particle acceleration, non-Gaussian suprathermal tails, broadening relaxation velocity distributions, localization, diffusion or trapping turbulent plasma. Density fluctuations cause acceleration during its stage; after saturation, it gains up half energy lost deceleration while damping, exhibiting asymptotically tail electrons carrying around 30% initial kinetic energy. Some important features observed for one-dimensional beams exciting plasmas can be recovered.

Waveforms of Langmuir turbulence in inhomogeneous solar wind plasmas
Modulated Langmuir waveforms have been observed by several spacecraft in various regions of the heliosphere, such as the solar wind, the electron foreshock, the magnetotail, or the auroral ionosphere. Many observations revealed the bursty nature of these waves, which appear to be highly modulated, localized, and clumped into spikes with peak amplitudes typically 3 orders of magnitude above the ...
متن کاملDynamics of subrelativistic electron beams in the solar corona Type III group analysis
A number of type III groups is studied. Wave particle interactions are neglected and the so called drift approximation is used to model the electron beam evolution. We extrapolated the observed Flux-Time profiles towards higher frequencies and estimated the injection time for the individual beams responsible for the excitation of the type III’s. A simple clustering algorithm, based on the tempo...
متن کاملTwo-dimensional nonlocal electron transport in laser-produced plasmas.
Much effort has been devoted to the study of nonlocal electron transport in laser-produced plasmas.'J Most of the work has involved the numerical solution of the electron Fokker-Planck (FP) equation in one dimension by finite difference techniques. Comparisons with standard fluid transport calculations using Spitzer-Harm (SH)3 heat flow 2, = K ~ T has revealed the occurrence of hot-electron "pr...
متن کاملElectron Transport in III-V Nitride Two-Dimensional Electron Gases
We present a study of electron scattering processes in AlGaN/GaN two-dimensional electron gases. A theoretical study of the effect of deformation potential scattering from strain fields surrounding dislocations is presented. The most important scattering mechanisms limiting electron transport are identified. We find that for AlGaN/GaN 2DEGs, mobility is limited by alloy scattering at high 2DEG ...
متن کاملMicroscopic dynamics in two-dimensional strongly-coupled dusty plasmas
A strongly-coupled plasma is a collection of free charged particles that interact with a Coulomb repulsion that is so strong that nearby particles do not easily move past one another. Unlike weakly-coupled plasmas, strongly-coupled plasmas exhibit a self-organization of particles into an arrangement like a solid crystalline lattice or a liquid. Dusty plasmas consist of micron-size particles of ...
